Oxford United

At the start of this season, I was hoping that Oxford could push on from narrowly missing out on the league 2 play-offs. In the summer, Chris Wilder scoured the transfer market and plucked out Jon Paul Pittman from Wycombe Wanderers, Deane Smalley from Oldham Athletic, Andy Whing from Brighton and Hove Albion, Michael Duberry from St Johnstone and Peter Leven from MK Dons. Out of United went Matt Green on loan to Mansfield, Simon Clist on loan to Hereford, Ben Purkiss on loan at Darlington. Sam Deering went to Barnet on a free, Jack Midson went to AFC Wimbledon.

Recently we have said good bye to a few of our rated players for the rest of the season, Ben Purkiss has signed for Hereford, Matt Green has been sold to Mansfield, Josh Payne has signed on loan at Aldershot, Deane Smalley has gone on loan to Bradford. Adam Chapman is still getting back to full fitness so we are going to be very thin on the ground. I am hoping that once we get Damian Batt back from Suspension he will stay fit and fire us to consolidate a play off berth.
